Cosmos has never worked Waves Support Issues

I contacted them about Cosmos and an issue where it just corrupts its own database to the point that it and CR8 cannjot be used at all. They gave me a work around wich took I day out of my life wich did not work. 6 Months later I am excited to get the update of Cosmos , Suprise it had exactly the same issue. I went on their website but the site would not let me Submit a support Ticket, I emailed their support email and got no reply. And whent on the online chat on the website and was told to submit it to Tech Support as Tech Support was outside of thier remit. COSMOS has never worked and it was a waist of money buying CR8 as Cosmos errors. I had no option but to escalte to a complaint and hold them up to thier legal obligations. Thing in allot of software companies just don't care about the customers but love to take money from them without really investing too much in the products themselves. Unfortunatly waves falls into this catogory. IF anyone has a simular issue with a sofware company as customer we do have allot more rights than the companys think you do. Email them the issue with this Following as they have to work within UK law as it is sold in the UK. Your details and contact details, explanation of issue followed by
“Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content should be of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

My rights have been breached because the digital content you sold me is faulty. I would like you to fix it within a reasonable time.”

Can you tell me if your company is a member of a Trade Association ?

And are you a member of an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme ?

As escalation can be raised with the Trade associations and ADR scheme that they are supposed to have in place to market to the UK

TWO licenses for home and performance machines? They lost a customer today.

I'm a 40-year pro musician who ended their relationship with Waves today. Why? In order to use their plugins on my performance laptop, I have to deactivate all the licenses on my pc, then reactivate them on the laptop. Then do it all over again for producing music at home. I have plugins from 6 other vendors, none of which have this ridiculous restriction. I lost a lot of plugins today. So don't make the same mistake I did. Their only 'option' is to pay a yearly renewal. In essence, re-paying for the same plugins over and over again. This is the only vendor I know of that does this. Never again.

BUYERS BEWARE

I bought a plugin and tried to install for Cubase.
The instructions make no sense and nothing I've tried will get them to work.
Talking to tech support, the guy was telling me how good their hub is, how it's so easy to use etc. and that they're major players along side Native Instruments, Steinberg, etc. Well, I beg to differ.
I spent 3 hours trying to install a plugin....a plugin!!!! Never in my years of making music have I spent that sort of time.
I've now given up and resigned myself to the fact I've lost my money.
Very sad and I'm bloody furious.

Scam company

Like a lot of people are complaining, this company is an absolute scam, you never actually own the product. You pay for a plugin and a couple of years later they force you to pay again if you want to keep using it. Terrible company, absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Don't recommend

I purchased two products within minutes of each other and they would not honor the buy two get one free promotion they have going. I would consider this company a complete scam but the products they make are quality. The other problem is the update plan. I purchased a new product and lost dozens of old products in the process. I do not recommend buying into their system and recommend checking out more honorable competitors instead (Soundtoys, Izotope, Native Instruments, etc)

DON'T BUY WAVES AUDIO HARDWARE

Once you buy a hardware, nobody inform you that delay time varies between 4-6 weeks (to reduce shipping costs they say). You pay 15 US$ (much more than any other shipping company) and you can wait and wait and wait. When you ask for a refund, cause you consider it as a scam, they don't leave you. So, PLEASE, be aware with Waves Audio.

Terrible marketing and continues rip…

Terrible marketing and continues rip off! I paid over $1000 a few years ago then they update the software and force you to pay hundreds of dollars again. Not anymore. I highly recommend NOT investing in waves plug in. After a while you either pay again or won't be able to use them. Waste money. I had many Platinum Bundle, CLA bundle, Vocal Rider etc, Now they are all in the rubbish bin. Learnt my lesson. I am a happy UAD user. Never look back. Never waves again! BE careful before you pay a penny!

waves is bad

what is this a 'really bad thing ' with those waves plugins.
You bought them, got a license for 2 pc's and then after a year , busy with your song work, suddenly one license disappears and you can buy them again. NEVER EVER again i buy something from WAVE!

Waves is a Scam of a company.

The updated plan is an absolute rip-off... I understand maybe a yearly fee for updates, but a per plugin payment is disgraceful! You buy plugins thinking you own them, then find out years later if you want to keep using them you have to pretty much pay for them again. What an absolute scam!

Convoluted process — forced upgrade.

This was the most convoluted, sketchy approach to an "optional" upgrade I've ever experienced. In my honest opinion this "forced" upgrade process seems dishonest at best and feels like a real money grab. From what I read, I could upgrade my already paid for plug-ins if I HAD to but still would have the choice to use the working plug-ins with my DAW. Not the case and not impressed at all.
